About Us

We've been married for nearly 4 years and have two amazing sons, Noah & Ezra! We met at a church about 10 years ago and quickly became good friends while we grew up in the same youth group. During that time we both felt a pull towards ministry but in different directions; Charles was more focused on youth ministry and Sam wanted to spend her life as a missionary. Instead of going down separate paths we teamed up together and decided to both spend our lives as missionaries with a focus on the younger generation. We have had many experiences through missions in different parts of the world: El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, the Philippines, and Romania. We've also spent a few years leading the young adults group at a church in Richardson, Texas. 


James 2:13 which says, "...mercy triumphs over judgement" is a verse that burns deep within us, we feel that as Christians we need to be an extension of the hands of Christ in showing love and mercy throughout the world.

We are a part of a missions sending agency called, Go To Nations (formerly Calvary International). Go To Nations strongly believes in spreading the Gospel to "every tribe, every tongue, every nation". They have been around for 30 years and have over 220 missionaries in nearly 80 countries.

Peanut-Butter pie from an Amish restaurant in Yoder, Kansas.

Coffee or Tea? 

This is a hard one…  but I guess I'll go with tea, im southern...
Would you rather be feared or loved? 

Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.

Who is your favorite Disney character? 

Corey Matthews from Boy Meets World (hey… it was on the Disney Channel).

If you could be an animal for a day what would you be? 

A lion, I love reenacting “The Lion King.”

What does Heaven smell like? 

I’d like to think it smells like coffee, or pie, or both.

What’s one thing that makes you feel like a man? 

Chopping wood with an axe.

A cat is about to jump out of a ten-story window, what do you do?

Watch and see if the cat really would land on his feet.

Ever had a close call? 

Yep, I had a fantasy football draft the same night Sam went into labor… well I ended up going to draft and leaving early and made it back in time for Sam to have Noah a few hours later. Hey don't judge me, I ended up winning the fantasy football season for the second year in a row.
Favorite game? 

Currently I am addicted to playing Settlers of Catan.

Coffee or Tea?

Coffee, but only if it’s loaded with sugar and flavored creamer. I know, I’m not a “real” coffee drinker.

Which kind of Bear is best? 

Bears that eat beets.

Who is your favorite Disney character?

Pumba from the Lion King.

If you could be an animal for a day what would you be? 

A cute little deer, just not during hunting season.

What does Heaven smell like? 

Maybe cinnamon or brownies being baked, but not both.

What’s your normal bedtime? 

I’d like for it to be 9:30 or 10, but usually it is much later than that.

A cat is about to jump out of a ten-story window, what do you do? 

Nothing, it will land on it’s feet.

What kitchen appliance are you most like and why? 

An oven, because I bake babies.

Favorite Game? 

Dutch blitz. It’s a vonderful gut game!
